International Training Course on Aeronautical Meteorology Services

Enrolment Information

 

The International Training Course on Aeronautical Meteorology Services is organized by the WMO Regional Training Center (RTC) Beijing China, sponsored by China Meteorological Administration (CMA), co-sponsored by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

 

Course Aim

The course is aimed to help participants to improve their forecasting methods, to enhance their ability in observation and forecast of weather parameters and significant weather phenomena, issuance of weather early warning and skills of hazardous phenomena and other weather phenomena and parameters. The course will assist participants to learn the developments of aeronautical meteorology services with an aim to support developing countries and other countries especially in Asia to implement WMO aeronautical meteorology programme (AeMP).

 

Expected Learning Outcomes

The course learning outcomes are directly related to the WMO Aeronautical Meteorological Personnel Competency Standards, 1, 2 and 3. After the course participants are expected to improve the capabilities involving:

 

 

  • Analyzing and diagnosing the weather situation as required in forecast and warning preparation;
  • Forecasting weather parameters and hazardous weather phenomena;
  • Application of mesoscale analysis technologies and forecasting methods;
