International Training Course on Weather Modification was Successfully Held by CMATC

The International Training Course on Weather Modification was held in Beijing from 18 to 29 August 2014. 31 Chinese participants and 10 international participants from 7 different countries working in the field of weather modification attended this two-week training. 

Entrusted by China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and with the financial support from CMA Voluntary Cooperation Programme (VCP) Fund, Weather Modification Center (WMC) and RTC-Beijing, the course organizers from the above organizations did a lot of meticulous and serious job to ensure that the International Training Course on Weather Modification was able to meet the criterion of WMO international training course. In order to meet needs of participants, CMATC offer high quality and professional lecturers. Indeed, CMATC invited not only first –rate researchers from WMC to give lectures combined with their first-hand experience but also the most famous experts and scientists on the certain field from THE US., such as Mr. Bruce Austin Boe, Mr. Paul Judson De Mott and Mr. Roelof Theunis Bruintjes, whose specialized knowledge and well-designed lectures has been highly praised by international participants.

The two-week course ended on 29 September, more than 10 participants addressed in the closing ceremony. In their addresses, they all appreciated the training opportunities provided by WMOCMATC and WMC, shared their training experiences and lovely memories in Beijing and expressed their confidence of rendering better services to their fatherlands or regions through the advanced science and technology on weather modification that what they had learned from this training course.

The 41 students was from China (31), Iran (1), Yemen (2), DPRK (2), Romania (1), Philippines (1), Oman (1), Thailand(1).
