CMATC held the opening ceremony of the International Training Course on Short-term Climate Predictio

In the morning of April 14, 2014, CMATC (WMO RTC Beijing) held the opening ceremony of the International Training Course on Short-term Climate Prediction Methods. All students and related teachers attended the ceremony.

 

The composition of the 18 participants were from Malaysia(2), Pakistan(1), Kenya(1), Egypt(3), Russia(1), Thailand(1), Yemen(1), Hong Kong, China(1), DPRK(2), Lao(1), Mongolia(1), Indonesia(1), Ghana(1),and Maldives(1). Students will also participate in the Tenth session of the Forum on Regional Climate Monitoring, Assessment and Prediction for Asia (FOCRAII), organized by Beijing Climate Center in Beijing. CMA provides round airfare support for some international students.

 

This duration for the training is 12 days, experts from Beijing Climate Center, Hawaii University, and Sun Yat-sen University will share beneficial experiences on short-term climate prediction.

 

Mr. Wang Bangzhong, Deputy Director-General of CMATC, welcomed all students who participate in this training and gave a brief introduction on CMA education and training. Mr. YU Jun, Deputy Director for International Cooperation, Dept. of International Cooperation, CMA, lectured on China’s meteorological services and CMA’s international cooperation.

 

The training course will be closed on April 25, 2014.
